Welcome to
Birchwood Community
High School
I am absolutely delighted and privileged to be the Headteacher of Birchwood Community High School. As a school, we understand young people only get one chance to experience school-life and our aim is very simple: to support them to grow into confident and independent learners with high aspirations, a love of learning and strong community values.

Yesterday, seven of our brilliant students took part in the One Community Trust’s very first Performance Poetry Festival at Brook Acre Primary School. While we didn’t win, they had a fantastic time and made a real impression on the judges – including Gary Cunningham, Head of the Trust – who praised their confidence and creativity.![]()
We were the only school where students wrote and performed their own original poems, which really set them apart and earned lots of positive feedback.![]()
A huge well done to our performers – you made us so proud with your talent, bravery and passion for poetry. What a brilliant celebration of student voice and creativity!![]()
